American collections inspire native artists and Indian communities
Article Abstract:
A program jointly sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania's American Section and the National Museum of the American Indian-Smithsonian Institution's Artist in Residence program permitting six Native American artists annually to do research on the museums' Indian collections is discussed. The program encourages artists to share their work with home communities.
