Piki of the Hopi Indians
Article Abstract:
Piki is a very thin cornmeal wafer common among Pueblo Indians. However, piki is more than a foodstuff to the Hopi, who consider it as an art form which is central to their ceremonial and everyday way of life. The Hopi continue to make piki using the tedious, time-consuming techniques handed down by their ancestors through the generations. A brief overview of how the Hopi make piki is presented.
