Watery tombs
Article Abstract:
The manner, in which the shamans in 1562 made human sacrifices to the 'idols' called the representations of the Maya God in the church, is described. It is described that the purpose of the blood sacrifice was done to appease an angry god, to balance the forces of nature, to beseech a higher power or to divine the future.
