Family clinic
Article Abstract:
Architecture for Health, Science and Commerce (AHSC) was responsible for the transformation of an abandoned 10,000-sq.-ft. supermarket in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant area into a walk-in family healthcare center serving the neighborhood. The design firm, which was commissioned by the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens, created a durable but warm environment for the healthcare unit, known as Sister Thea Bowman Family Health Center, that would impart a sense of dignity, respect and professional concern for inner-city patients.
