Faith restored
Article Abstract:
The Slovenian Church of St Cyril in the East Village of Manhattan, New York, NY, was badly in need of repairs by the 1990s. Church leaders realized that they have to renovate the building as soon as possible because this appeared to cause the dwindling of the church's parishioners. Hence, they asked the help of architect Eduardo Lacroze who forecasted a renovation cost of almost $1 million. Despite the church's limited sources of funding, the Church of St Ciryl was rebuilt in time for its 80th anniversary in 1997 through the help of local Slovenes and the Slovenian government.
