Regional branches of the National Archives are equipped with resources vital to typical researchers of genealogy. These include records of extant federal censuses, indexes of surnames based on the sound of name, pre-World War I military records, ship passenger rosters, and naturalization records.

Genealogy: o Tannenbaum!

Article Abstract:

The Tannenbaum tree is a Christmas tradition that originated from the Germans. History shows that the first German settlers in Philadelphia used matzebaum to decorate their Christmas trees. This tradition has been handed down to present-day Americans whose roots can be traced to the Germans.
