Get real
Article Abstract:
The creation of synthetic environments is man's artful way of extending the more ordinary fakery of life and exploring the unreal. These artificial realms, which became pervasive with the emergence of state-of-the-art technology, have been adopted by oceanic water parks, themed restaurants and retail rainforests to attract more customers and give them the experience of living different worlds. Homes have also been invaded by these synthetic installations to allow owners to escape the realities of the real world.

Won't you be my neighbor?
Article Abstract:
'The Un-Private House' architecture exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, NY, seeks to explore the various ways that the concept of private space can be rendered in the modern home. The 26 home designs exhibited, 10 of which have already been constructed, suggest that privacy is as much about the presence of information as people. The exhibits, which tend to marginalize the presence of children, effectively demonstrate the elusive quality of privacy.
