A retired couple now owns Kingston Hall, a 15-room house on a 270-acre property in Somerset County, MD, that originally belonged to a plantation owner. With a pavilion that has a pediment and circular window, several outbuildings and a 200-year-old plantation bell, Kingston Hall affords its visitors the chance to view what 18th-century plantation life was like.

Article Abstract:

A blend of classic furnishings and the textures and colors that he loves has resulted in an appealing home for interior designer Birch Coffey, owner of Birch Coffey Design Associates. The apartment on the east side of Manhattan offered minimal architectural detail and an uninteresting view before its renovation.
