Looking ahead: Himmel/Bonner Architects' optimistic modernism
Article Abstract:
Darcy Bonner and Scott Himmel formed their design company, Himmel/Bonner Architects in 1979, after graduating from Tulane University, New Orleans. Their design work for Stanley Korshak stores first attracted attention to the company. Both designers describe themselves as modernists, and allow their individual interests to penetrate their work. The company has recently joined with Murphy/Jahn Architects, with a view to expanding contract work.

Modern classics: the timelessness of modern design revisited
Article Abstract:
Himmel/Bonner Architects, a design company, have used the style of the 30's armchairs for their designs, rather than creating original designs, because the market is already saturated with new designs. The chairs are made in rich colours such as orange, yellow and khaki. The furniture is produced by Mattaliano, which worked closely with Himmel/Bonner.
