Minor tweaking will save the day
Article Abstract:
The Oshkosh Northwestern newspaper from Wisconsin needs to use extra design and more photojournalism for its daily edition. The paper has a neatly designed front page, but there are shortcomings. However, these can be improved with different treatments of the front page for different days of the week. Extra design and illustration, along with additional infographics and better use of photojournalism, is needed to improve the daily edition. Infusing an element of fun into the sports page will lead to more circulation.

Paris: an update on the reaction of LeMonde to the introduction of information
Article Abstract:
Le Monde, a French national daily newspaper, had to be redesigned because it was losing readers. To achieve that purpose, the publishers hired a consultant, Jean-Francois Fogel, who evaluated and redesigned the paper, based on ideas obtained through interviews with more than 3,000 readers. With its redesign, Le Monde started to use the graphics system Infomatin. Le Monde now sells 12% more copies from the newsstand than it did before the redesign.
