News and food stands

Article Abstract:

Miami, FL-based Spillis Candela & Partners is behind the new flight-inspired design of Miami International Airport's Concourse A restaurants and newsstands. Spillis Candela had to employ images that relate to speed, aerodynamics and technology in designing the areas. The bar and newstand designs had to meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements within a limited amount of space. The firm also had to seek the approval of both the aviation department and the retail and foodservice concessions regarding the function, aesthetics and easy maintenance of the facilities.
