Many homes have hidden dangers than can pose a health threat to family members and pets. Among these potential health dangers are the chemical in house paints and the ventilation while painting, air fresheners, bug sprays, detergents and fabric softeners treated with alcohol, and some dry cleaning chemicals.

Air pollution from May through Sept is the worst due to the strong reaction of sunlight on car emissions and other pollutants. Physical reactions to this increase can include eye irritations, wheezing, and coughing. Tips given to minimize smog's impact include staying in on days of high pollution.
