Ann Hutchinson Guest has made significant contributions to the notation of dance. Rather than rely on physical demonstrations between instructor and dancer, Guest has promoted notation, or dance scoring, as a method for teaching students and developing performances. She believes that notation can provide the structure from which producers and dancers can interpret.
