Americans in Moscow
Article Abstract:
The variety of pieces from different companies and choreographers, and the unique cross-partnerships of dancers from different companies, ensured an American unity. Not one ballet critic or newspaper reporter who wrote about the gala failed to take note of the debt that American ballet owes to Russia -perhaps because the producers underlined the fact that the team consisted only of Americans.

Modern ballet choreographers have given their views on the modern and classical choreography and its effect on the Maryinsky Ballet. The works and the different styles adapted by Balanchine, John Neumeier, William Forsythe and Roland Petit are discussed.
