Cultural education in Ghana: a case study of dance development in the University system

Article Abstract:

The details of the research into African dance-theatre conducted by the Institute of African Studies of the University of Ghana are presented. The researchers faced some problems at the initial stage of their study, because the University was not accustomed to a cultural program that brought local priests, musicians, and dancers from the ethnic system to the campus.

Throughout, Virginia Woolf's writing references to dance occur more frequently than one might expect where she alludes to both social dance and performance.
