Extreme Ballet
Article Abstract:
Extreme ballet refers to an emerging style of ballet that brings new perception to expressive and structural qualities of a work. This style is exemplified by choreographers William Forsythe, John Alleyne, Ashley Page and others. Extreme ballet is the only forward-moving sign within ballet tradition and is becoming both popular and influential. These ballets offer audiences a new level of detail in perceiving performances.

Merle Park on Nureyev
Article Abstract:
Ballet principal Rudolf Nureyev provided a role model of strength and clarity of purpose for other dancers. He insisted on performing even if he was ill, in the belief that dancers who give in to discomfort are more willing to cancel performances. This dedication was also a result of Nureyev's desire not to disappoint his audiences.
