Ready made: An architect embraces Neutra
Article Abstract:
C. J. Bonura, an architect redesigned a house put for sale by Richard Neutra, which is one of eight that Neutra developed near the scenic Silver Lake reservoir, between downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood. The 1,600-square foot house, its exterior a mix of redwood, smooth steel troweled plaster and sprayed stucco, has typical Neutra elements, such as a spider leg post and beam that supports the deep roof overhang integration of indoors and outdoors that Bonura found most striking.

A home's architect and its new owner joined forces to resurrect a much-compromised mid-century house. A description of the redesigned 3,000 square-foot mixture of steel and glass house originally designed by the famed Southern California modernist Pierre Koenig in 1962 which exudes tranquility is provided.

Holding its own
Article Abstract:
The two-story townhouse on Manhattan's Upper East Side, was designed by Paul Mitarachi in 1958. Architect Alexander Gorlin added a third level to the house to accommodate a new owner and reworked the facade above the second floor.
