'Duke!' - a collaboration of choreographers
Article Abstract:
The authors discuss their combined efforts in creating three short ballets based on music by Duke Ellington and presented on Jun 3, 1999 by the New York City Ballet Company. Stylistic variations, motivation for developing the ballet, and the influence of Ellington's music are discussed.

Balanchine as I knew him

The author discusses her professional relationship with George Balanchine, beginning in 1947, and how they worked together on notating his choreography. Her work with Kurt Joos, interviews with ballet dancers, and Labanotation publications are described.
