NASP: America's silver streak
Article Abstract:
The National Aerospace Plane, also known as the X-30, is the US's attempt at designing and building a reusable hypersonic transport plane capable of Mach 25 speeds. This will enable the X-30 to take off from a normal runway and go into earth orbit. However, budgetary constraints might delay the project.

Sanger: Germany's black bullet
Article Abstract:
The Sanger hypersonic spaceplane represents Germany's effort in opening up space to routine visits by man. This effort may be stalled, however, due to the poor state of the present world economy. The Sanger is named after space scientist Eugen Sanger, who first farmed out the idea of winged spacecraft.

High levels of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) were discovered over the Northern Hemisphere in Feb 1992. This alarming discovery shows the importance of phasing out CFC production and use, since under present conditions, EPA estimates an 800,000 rise in the number of cancer-related deaths by 2092.
