1996: faster but not deadlier
Article Abstract:
Unofficial figures on traffic fatalities in 1996 do not support the argument made by safety advocates that higher speed limits would increase traffic fatalities. These figures indicate that fatalities fell 3% from 41,858 in 1995 to 40,734 in 1996.
