Some of the people who ventured into automaking and eventually failed were Powel Crosley, Preston Tucker, Henry J Kaiser, Earl Muntz, Gary Davis, Brooks Stevens, Malcolm Bricklin, Jerry Wiegert and John DeLorean. Their failures were largely attributed to naivete in predicting consumer tastes.

Vector Avtech WX-3 prototype
Article Abstract:
A test drive of a new Vector WX-3 prototype is described. The twin-turbo V-8 engine provides an incredible 625 bhp and, with no sound deadening in the prototype, the engine sound is overwhelming. The production cars will have sound insulation and a price of approximately $338,000.
