Article Abstract:
Some racers refurbish old Winston Cup cars and make them into usable vintage stock cars. These vehicles are inexpensive, noisy, fast and durable. Most of the drivers of racers' old cars have other professions. The budget for a Winston Cup team for one season of racing is about $4.3 million.

Gibbs creates sponsors logos and other graphics that adorn race cars in the form of vinyl decals generated by computer. Gibbs got his start in race-car sign painting and then started his decal and logo company Freelance Lettering in 1982.
