Full gainer in a Firebird: we go to Bonneville and discover that it takes more than gobs of horsepower, a sleek body, and a heavy right foot to bag a record
Article Abstract:
A driver at Bonneville describes how his Firebird veered off the course and flipped over after he exceeded the speed record of 222.581 mph. Aerodynamic lift and a lack of traction contributed to the crash. The driver hopes that using more ballast, different tires and roof flaps will improve stability.
