Mercedes-Benz has developed and introduced new products which include a station wagon, minicars, roadsters and even a mountain bike. The new products were built in response to changes in world market, and the firm's realization that it must build products to please its customers.

Safety engineering has been the trademark of Mercedes Benz automobiles since 1939 when the car firm conducted its first crash tests. For its M-Class sport utility vehicle, Mercedes decided that a body-on-frame design provided greater safety.
