A new breed of go-kart racers has been drawing raves among racing enthusiasts. Their popularity on the race track outshines even television and movie personalities. These race-track 'heartthrobs' include Gil de Ferran, Alessandro Zanardi, Richie Hearn and Patrick Carpentier.

A 1937 Mercedes W125, 1939 W154, and 1955 W196 were taken from the Mercedes-Benz Museum and displayed at Nurburgring, a German race track that was opened in 1926 and remodeled in 1984. Michael Schumacher won the Formula 1 grand prix race that followed.
