The road race that time forgot
Article Abstract:
Historical accounts on automobile racing revealed that the first road race was held at Buchanan Field in Concord, CA, in 1949. The event, which drew 2,000 spectators, was organized by the MG Car Club of Northern California. Some of the racing participants were Kjell Qyale, Bjarne Qyale and Harry Fair.

Antonio "Tony" Parravano
Article Abstract:
Antonio 'Tony' Parravano was one of the most important personalities in California automobile racing in the 1950s although his contributions were not recognized during those times. He assembled a collection of sports cars and commissioned the best drivers available.
