A cb-type cytochrome-c oxidase terminates the respiratory chain in Helicobacter pylori
Article Abstract:
Membrane fragments of Helicobacter pylori indicate the presence of a cbb(sub 3)-cytochrome-c oxidase, rather than a quinol oxidase, as the terminal oxidase of its respiratory chain. Redox difference spectra analysis strongly shows the presence of b- and c-type cytochromes upon reduction with Na2S2O4. SDS-PAGE of the membrane indicate three polypeptides to be bearing haem c. KCN inhibits both cytochrome-c and TMPD oxidase activities. The K(sub m) of the oxidase for oxygen is lower than that of the aa(sub 3)-type.

Transcriptional repressor CopR: dissection of stabilizing motifs within the C terminus
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the CopR C terminus. The dissection of the stabilizing motifs within this terminus has been carried out and the results indicate the existence of the amphiphilic beta-strand sequence which can be replaces by a heterologous beta-strand forming sequence.

Cytochrome c oxidase contains an extra charged amino acid cluster in a new type of respiratory chain in the amino-acid-producing Gram-positive bacterium Corynebacterium glutamicum
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the membranes from Corynebacterium glutamicum cells containing cytochrome c subunit. The isolation of the cytochrome aa (sub)3 -type cytochrome c oxidase and cloning of its structural genes have been carried out and examined.
