An autosomal genomic scan for loci linked to type II diabetes mellitus and body-mass index in Pima Indians

Article Abstract:

Various research methods have been used to identify genetic loci for type II diabetes mellitus occurring in Pima Native Americans. These included variance-components methodology, and multipoint, bivariate linkage and sib-pair analyses, and were adjusted for age and body-mass index. Results indicate potential loci on chromosomes 1q and 7q for diabetes susceptibility.

A genomewide association study of skin pigmentation in a south Asian population

Article Abstract:

Single-nucleotide polymorphisms are used in multistage genomewide association study to systematically investigate genetic factors influencing skin-pigmentation variation among South Asian population. Three genes accounting for skin-pigmentation variation are detected.
