Acetate degradation at 70 degrees centigrade in upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactors and temperature response of granules grown at 70 degrees centigrade

Article Abstract:

Anaerobic sludge blanket (ASB) reactors inoculated with mesophilic granular sludge were employed to study anaerobic acetate degradation at 70 degrees centigrade and at 55 degrees centigrade. The experiment revealed that when upflow ASB reactors were fed with acetate containing media, it required 50 days working at 70 degrees centigrade and less than 15 days when working at 55 degrees centigrade to attain an effluent COD of 500 to 700 milligrams per liter. Batch assays were analyzed to prove that sludges from two 70 degrees upflow ASB reactors showed different responses to temperatures of 37 to 70 degrees centigrade.

Detection of microcystin-producing cyanobacteria in Finnish lakes with genus-specific microcystin synthetase gene E (mcyE) PCR and associations with environmental factors

Article Abstract:

The frequency and composition of potential microcystin (MC) producers in 70 Finnish lakes with general and genus-specific microcystin synthetase gene E (myE) PCR are studied. The combination of Microcystis and Planktothrix was slightly more prevalent than others in mestrophic lakes, and the coocurrence of all three MC producers was most widespread in both entrophic and hypertrophic lakes.

Modeling the rate of attachment of Listeria monocytogenes, Pantoea agglomerans and Pseudomonas fluorescens to and the probability of their detachment from potato tissue at ten degree centigrade

Article Abstract:

A raw potato is the subject of this study where the tissue of the potato is analyzed to see the rate of attachment of bacteria. The methods used are mathematical approaches under different conditions.
