Altered metabolic flux due to deletion of odhA causes L-glutamate overproduction in corynebacterium glutamicum

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the relationship between L-glutamate-producing induction, alterations in the fatty acid composition of the membrane, 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex activity, changes in metabolic flux, and L-glutamate production. The findings suggest that optimizing the metabolic flux from 2-oxoglutarate to L-glutamate by tuning glutamate dehydrogenase activity increased the L-glutamate production of the odhA-deleted strain.

Functional analysis of the twin-arginine translocation pathway in Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC 13869

Article Abstract:

The tatA, tatB, tatC, and tatE genes from Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC 13869 is cloned and mutants carrying deletions of each tat gene or of both the tatA and tatE genes is constructed to assess the function of the C. glutamicum Tat pathway. Unlike the TatB proteins from gram-negative bacteria C. glutamicum TatB is dispensable for Tat function, although it is required for maximal efficiency of secretion.

Quantitative detection of Corynebacterium casei in cheese by real-time PCR

Article Abstract:

A SYBR green I real-time PCR method is developed to quantify Corynebacterium casei, a major species of smear-ripened cheeses, using primers designed to target the 16S rRNA gene. Results reveal that SYBR green I real-time PCR might be used as a reliable species-specific method for quantification of bacteria from the surface of cheeses.
