Beating malaria

Article Abstract:

Nicholas White and Francois Nosten from Shoklo Malaria Research Unit (SMRU) of the Wellcome Trust-Mahidol University-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Program have shown that drugs in combination with artemisinin are 90% effective at fighting malaria. Nosten and White are using artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) to treat malarial patients in Thailand and China.
