Changes in height and motor performance relative to peak height velocity: a mixed-longitudinal study of Spanish boys and girls
Article Abstract:
Longitudinal changes in stature and motor performance were studied in an sample of adolescents of both genders and peak height velocity (PHV) was determined. For males, estimation of PHV gives 11.4 +/- 2.2 cm/yr, for females, 8.7 +/- 1.6 cm/yr. Estimations for age-at gave 13.0 +/- 0.63 years for males, for females, 12.4 +/- 0.57 years. In both sexes peak velocities in agility, speed in running, and abdominal strength-resistance came before PHV with acceleration of performance after PHV. Performance in several motor tests spurts in adolescence with intensity proportional to the adolescent height spurt in both sexes.

Month-of-birth effect on height and weight in Polish rural children
Article Abstract:
The general inference that a child height and weight is dependent on the month in which he/she is born is tested. However, after analysing by different methods, the study rejected two possible causes of age categorising and seasonally varying growth rates, thus leaving the area open to further research.

Relationship of birth weight and length with growth in height and body diameters from 5 years of age to maturity
Article Abstract:
Birth weight and birth length have been examined in relation to growth measures, such as body height and weight, linear limb measures, body diameters and head circumference in 726 Melbourne schoolchildren aged 5-18 years. Only weak associations between some growth measures and birth measures were found.
