Characterization of two tetrachloroethene-reducing acetate-oxidizing anaerobic bacteria and their description as Desulfuromonas michiganensis sp. nov

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on tetrachloroethene-dechlorinating populations. The isolation of these population from river sediments and chloroethene-contaminating aquifer material has been carried out, and the suthors describe these isolated as new species Desulfuromonas michiganensis.

N-acetyl-L-cysteine affects growth, extracellular polysaccharide production, and bacterial biofilm formation on solid surfaces

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on bacterial biofilm formation. The authors have investigated diferent bacteria for the potential to form biofilms as multispecies community and as monocultures in the presence and absence of N-acetyl-L-cysteine, and they report the results.

Characterization of Fe(III) reduction by chlororespiring Anaeromxyobacter dehalogenans

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Anaeromxyobacter dehalogenans strain 2CP-C growth. Results demonstrate that this strain grows due to Fe(III) reduction coupling to acetate oxidation
