Cdc42 controls progenitor cell differentiation and beta-catenin turnover in skin
Article Abstract:
Conditional gene targeting in mice was used to analyze the function of small GTPase Cdc42 in skin and to test whether Cdc42 is important in skin progenitor cell differentiation. It was found that the Cdc42 is crucial for differentiation of skin progenitor cells into hair follicle (HF) lineage and that it regulates beta-catenin degradation in vivo and in vitro.

Hic-5 regulates an epithelial program mediated by PPAR(Gamma)
Article Abstract:
The role of Hic-5 in regulating an epithelial program that is mediated by PPAR(Gamma) is studied, where it is seen that the PPAR(Gamma) interacts with Hic-5, which is a coactivator protein expressed in gut epithelial cells. The results indicate that Hic-5 plays an important role in determining an epithelial differentiation program induced by PPAR(Gamma).
