Effect of nitrogen limitation on long-side-chain poly-beta-hydroxyalkanoate synthesis by Pseudomonas resinovorans
Article Abstract:
Pseudomonas resinovorans responds to nitrogen limitation with an increase in its production of long-side-chain poly-beta-hydroxyalkanoates (LSC PHA) unlike Pseudomonas oleovorans, another fluorescent pseudomonad. It grows on glucose asits carbon and energy source but only synthesizes LSC PHAs on long-chained alkanoates. The chain length of the carbon source is reflected on the PHAs produced. The LSC PHA synthesis of Pseudomonas resinovorans is similar to thoseof poly-beta-hydroxybutyrate-accumulating bacteria in which limitation of nitrogen and other elements enhances polymer accumulation.

Characterization by 16S rRNA sequence analysis of pseudomonas causing blotch disease of cultivated Agaricus bisporus
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the bacterial blotch of Agaricus bisporus caused by Pseudomonas tolaasii or Pseudomonas gingeri. The isolation of these pseudomonas from the mushroom farms in New Zealand has been carried out in investigating the molecular and phenotypic diversity among preudomonas capable of inducing blotch-related diseases of A. bisporus.

Selective removal of nitrogen from quinoline and petroleum by Pseudomonas ayucida IGTN9m
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate isolation of aerobic bacteria which utilize quinoline as a nitrogen source instead of carbon source. Data show that the bacteria are useful in the petroleum biorefining as they selectively remove nitrogen from petroleum.
