Evidence of outcrossing in Trillium erectum and Trillium grandiflorum (Liliaceae)
Article Abstract:
It is possible to dispute the assumption that selfing breeding systems are typical of all species of Trillium in North America. Levels of allozyme variation in T. erectum and T. grandiflorum from central New York are seen more commonly in species with outcrossing instead of selfing breeding systems. High levels of allozyme diversity were seen in these species. These high levels are not typical of other Trillium species researched in glaciated regions of North America.

Genetics of isozymes in grasspea
Article Abstract:
Lathyrus staivas L. is a grasspea grown widely in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and China, because of its ability to withstand drought and excessive soil moisture. Isozyme variation has been examined in the grasspea, but an inheritance study provides an allelic interpretation of phenotypic variations of isozymes. Each isozyme showed codominant gene expression apart from EST-3, and monomeric quaternary structure was seen in ACO-1, ACO-2, EST-6, LAP-1 and SKDH.

Natural outcrossing in grasspea
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to estimate the rate of outcrossing in grasspea using three methods of planting in which different frequencies of the recessive parent were employed. The results showed that outcrossing is homogenous among eight grasspea families and that its average rate is 2.16%. These results indicate that the genetic integrity of individual grasspea lines can be maintained when an increased number of seeds are grown in isolation.
