Supermarket sweep?
Article Abstract:
Food policy is important because it focuses on who is controlling what we eat, how it is grown or reared and the vested interests involved in all aspects of food production. This has become increasingly important in view of the food scares in the United Kingdom. Food policy considers whether food scares are caused by improper preparation by the customer or by mass production methods and poor conditions in slaughterhouses. It is important to have an independent voice questioning how food is produced and promoted and this can only be achieved by having an independent food policy.

Formation of dimethyl sulfide and methanethiol in anoxic freshwater sediments
Article Abstract:
A research was conducted to study freshwater sediments of different origins with respect to the endogenous production of volatile organic sulfur compounds (VOCS), dimethyl sulfide, and methanethiol. A Pye Unicam gas chromatograph was utilized to evaluate methane while sediment samples were adjusted to give a water and sediment ration of 1:1. Results showed evidence for sulfide methylation as a major mechanism in the formation of VOSC in freshwater sediments.
