Formation of the female pronucleus and reorganization and disassembly of the first interphase cytoskeleton in the egg of the glossiphoniid leech Theromyzon rude

Article Abstract:

The partition and isolation of the sperm-derived centrosome occurs at the first interphase in the newly fertilized egg of a leech. The female pronucleus is developed at the centrally situated perinucleus plasma domain through fusion and reframing of karyomeres obtained from the animal pole at the centripetal ooplasmic flow. The wrinkling and rearrangement of the microtubules and microfilaments along polar rings and meridional bands are followed by the disassembly of the ectoplasmic monaster fibers.
