Gas exchange in the filamentous cyanobacterium Nostoc punctiforme strain ATCC 29133 and its hydrogenase-deficient mutant strain NHM5

Article Abstract:

Mass spectrometer and isotopic tracing were used to study the gas exchange in the filamentous cyanobacterium Nostoc punctiforme strain ATCC 29133 and its hydrogenase-deficient mutant strain NHM5 as well as the exchange of oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen simultaneously. The study helped in identifying the conditions that would help in directing the energy flow through the nitrogenase for producing hydrogen rather than nitrogen fixation.

Genetic characterization of the resorcinol catabolic pathway in Corynebacterium glutamicum

Article Abstract:

The genetic characterization of the resorcinol catabolic pathway in Corynebacterium glutamicum is described. Two gene clusters, designated NCgl1110-NCgl1113 and NCgl2950-NCgl2953 are proposed to encode putative proteins involved in resorcinol catabolism by genome-wide data mining.
