Genetic variation of Ginkgo biloba L. (Ginkgoaceae) based on cpDNA PCR-RFLPs: Inference of glacial refugia

Article Abstract:

The genetic structure of eight potential refugial populations and plantations using chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) with eight size variants in the trnK1-trnK2 fragment are examined, to make inferences about the glacial refugia that harbored G. biloba. Results suggest that refugia of G. bibola were located in southwestern China that is a biodiversity resemblance of global importance.

Using principle component analysis to compare genetic diversity across polyploidy levels within plant complexes: an example from British Restharrows (Ononis spinosa and Ononis repens)

Article Abstract:

The principle component analysis (PCO) is employed to study the genetic diversity observed across the different polyploidy levels within related plant populations, like the British Restharrows (Ononis spinosa and Ononis repens). The results demonstrate the presence of strong reproductive barriers between the different ploidy levels of the discussed specie.

Applying new inter-individual approaches to assess fine-scale population genetic diversity in a neotropical frog, Eleutherodactylus ockendeni

Article Abstract:

The article discusses some approaches to quantify genetic diversity and gene flow in biological populations of a neotropical leaflitter frog Eleutherodactylus ockendeni in a single site in Ecuador. It further discusses the utility of the inter-individual analytical approach used.
