Here is the evidence, now what is the hypothesis? the complementary roles of inductive and hypothesis-driven science in the post-genomic era
Article Abstract:
This article discusses the need to have hypotheses and accompanying data in scientific discovery as data- and technology-driven programmes are complementary and iterative part to the hypotheses. Research shows that computational methods used for data analysis can also generate novel hypotheses. The implication of this approach in the post-genomic era research is discussed.

Cancer surgery: Risks and opportunities
Article Abstract:
A summarized review of the literature that supports the concept that tumour removal might potentiate the growth of residual neoplastic disease is presented. The urgent need for trails of agents that could protect patients against harmful host-tumour interactions that might occur during the perioperative period is emphasized.

Use of bacteria in anti-cancer therapies
Article Abstract:
The systematic delivery of various types of non-pathogenic obligate anaerobic and facultative anaerobic bacteria leads to its infiltration and selective replication within solid tumors. Bacteria can be exploited as vectors for targeting therapeutic gene expression to tumors and is also useful in cancer gene therapy.
