In vitro and in vivo studies of the Yrp1 protease from Yersinia ruckeri and its role in protective immunity against enteric red mouth disease of salmonids
Article Abstract:
The hydrolytic and immunogenic properties of Yrp1 are described. Findings state that Yrp1 protease, the first virulence factor defined in Y. ruckeri presents similarities in its mode of regulation to other virulence genes from mammal pathogenic Yersinia and plays a non essential although relevant role during infection and ERM disease development in salmonids.

Identification of specific in vivo-induced (ivi) genes in Yersinia ruckeri and analysis of ruckerbactin, a catecholate siderphore iron acquisition system
Article Abstract:
The optimization of an in vivo selection system for a fish-pathogenic species as well as the identification and sequencing of 14 ivi (in vivo-induced) genetic loci and the analysis of those related to iron acquisition are reported. The tests confirm the production and utilization of a virulence-involved catecholate siderophore by Yersinia ruckeri.

Characterization of a novel PepF-like oligopeptidase secreted by Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 23-7A
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on the characterization of an oligopeptidase from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 23-7A along with its biochemical activities and structural gene. Results showed that the PepF-like oligopeptidase is a secreted protein and may facilitate the process of sporulation.
