Infraspecific DNA methylation polymorphism in cotton (Gossypium hirsuttum L.)

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to explore the levels and patterns of methylation-polymorphism (MP) diversity at CCGG sites within allotetraploid cotton, Gossypium birsutum, using a methylation-sensitive amplified fragment length polymorphism screen. High percentage of methylation-polymorphic sites and potential relationship to gene expression were observed, underscoring the potential significance of MP within and among populations.

Electrophoretic evidence for disomic inheritance and allopolyploid origin of the octoploid cerastium alpinum (Caryophyllaceae)

Article Abstract:

The segregation patterns of different enzymes in the polyploid cerastium alpinum through controlled crosses is analyzed for studying the population genetic structure. By establishing the mode of inheritance through crosses, the use of a codominant marker in population genetic analysis of an octoploid plant was possible.

Phylogeographic analyses of Callicebus lugens (Platyrrhini, primates)

Article Abstract:

A phylogeographic study of Callicebus lugens based on cytochrome b DNA sequence data revealed the distribution of C. lugens south of Rio Negro. It is suggested that conservation strategists might consider the likelihood of this species being sympatric with Callicebus torquatus at the south bank of Rio Negro.
