L-Valine production with pyruvate dehydrogenase complex-deficient Corynebacterium glutamicum

Article Abstract:

The effect of pyruvate dehydrogenase complex (PDHC) inactivation in Corynebacterium glutamicum on the formation of organic acids and amino acids is investigated. The results have shown that the PDHC-deficient mutant of Corynebacterium glutamicum wild type (WT) have produced pyruvate, L-valine, L-alanine, thus directing the carbon flux from glucose to L-valine by overexpression of L-valine biosynthetic genes.

Sequence analysis of the 144-kilobase accessory plasmid pSmeSM11a, isolated from a dominant Sinorhizobium meliloti strain identified during a long-term field release experiment

Article Abstract:

The complete nucleotide sequence of an accessory plasmid (pSmeSM11a) is described that is isolated from a dominant indigenous Sinorhizobium meliloti subpopulation in the context of a long-term field release experiment with genetically modified S. melilati strains. The presence of many insertion sequences has suggested that these elements mediated acquisition of accessory plasmid modules.

Role of the ssu and seu genes of corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC 13032 in utilization of sulfonates and sulfonate esters as sulfur sources

Article Abstract:

Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC 13032 was found to be able to utilize a broad range of sulfonates and sulfonate esters as sulfur sources. By using real-time reverse transcription-PCR, the ssu and seu gene cluster was found to be expressed considerably more strongly during growth of sulfonates and sulfonate esters than during growth on sulfate.
