Membrane organization and tumorgenesis-The NF2 tumor suppressor, Merlin

Article Abstract:

Merlin, like the closely related Ezrin, Radixin and Moesin proteins, appears to provide regulated linkage between membrane-associated proteins and the actin cytoskeleton and is therefore poised to function in receiving and interpreting signals from the extracellular milieu. It is suggested that Merlin may coordinate the processes of growth-factor receptor signaling and cell adhesion.

NF2 deficiency promlotes turmogenesis and metastasis by destabilizing adherens junctions

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Neurofibromatosis 2 tumor suppressor genes. The authors report that the cellular consequence of Neurofibromatosis 2 deficiency in cells is caused by inability to undergo contact-dependent growth arrest and to form cadherin-containing cell:cell junctions.

Impact of p53 loss on reversal and recurrence of conditional Wnt-induced turmorigenesis

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Wnt pathway. The authors demonstrate that targeted down-regulation of the Wnt pathway leads to the disappearance of both Wnt-initiated invasive primary tumors and pulmonary metastases.
