Molecular and conformational basis of a specific and high-affinity interaction between albA and albicidin phytotoxin

Article Abstract:

The circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopic and mutagenesis analyses of the albA-albicidin protein-ligand interaction are used to examine the molecular and conformational mechanisms of the high-affinity interaction between albA and albidicidin phytotoxin. The results suggest that hydrophobic and electrostatic potentials of the key amino acid residues play important roles in the albA-albicidin interaction.

Cumulative effect of amino acid replacements results in enhanced thermostability of potato type L alpha-glucan phosphorylase

Article Abstract:

The thermostability of potato type L alpha-glucan phosphorylase is enhanced by random and site-directed mutagenesis. The enhanced properties may be very important not only for the use of this enzyme for industrial purposes but also for the production and purification of this enzyme on an industrial scale.

Construction of a functional S-layer fusion protein comprising an immunoglobulin G-binding domain for development of specific adsorbents for extracorporeal blood purification

Article Abstract:

An S-layer fusion protein comprising the sequence of the Z-domain is constructed. The Z-domain is a synthetic analogue of the B-domain of protein A, capable of binding the Fc part of immunoglobulin G (IgG).
