Natamycin as a fungicide in agar media

Article Abstract:

The use of natamycin as a fungal inhibitor in agar media was assessed. The results showed that at a concentration of 21.6 micrograms per ml, natamycin was able to effectively inhibit fungal growth. Thefungicidal activity was significantly higher than that of cycloheximide. Furthermore, bacterial recovery was not affected by the treatment. The results demonstrate that natamycin is a more potent fungal inhibitor that cycloheximide. Additionally, natamycin is safer to use.

Inhibition of efflux transporter-mediated fungicide resistance in Pyrenophora tritici-repentis by a derivative of 4'-hydroxyflavone and enhancement of fungicide activity

Article Abstract:

The hydroxyflavone derivative 2-chromen-4-one is identified as a potent inhibitor of energy-dependent fungicide efflux transporters in Pyrenophora tritici-repentis. The results highlight the role of energy-dependent efflux transporters in fungicide resistance and could enable a novel disease management strategy based on the inhibition of fungicide efflux to be developed.

Identification and characterization of benzimidazole resistance in Monilinia fructicola from stone fruit orchards in California

Article Abstract:

The benzimidazole- resistant isolates of M. fructicola from the stone fruit in California were characterized. The findings observed reported low and high levels of resistance to benzimidazole fungicides in field isolates of M. fructicola.
