Novel hydrophobic surface binding protein, HsbA, produced by Aspergillus oryzae

Article Abstract:

Hydrophobic surface binding protein A (HsbA) was purified from the culture broth and its N-terminal amino acid sequence is determined by encoding a protein whose N terminus matched that of purified HsbA in the Aspergillus oryzae. The results suggest that when HsbA is adsorbed onto the polybutylene succinate-co-adipate (PSBA) surfaces, it recruits CutL1, and that when CutL1 is accumulated on the PSBA surface, it stimulates PSBA degradation.

Characterization of an inducible phenylserine aldolase from Pseudomonas putida 24-1

Article Abstract:

Phenylserine aldolase which catalyzes the cleavage of L-threo-3-phenylserine to yield benzaldehyde and glycine was purified and characterized to homogeneity from a crude extract of Pseudomonas putida 24-1 isolated from soil. It was observed that in the reverse reaction the yield of the threo form was about two fold higher than that of the erythro form which reflects the binding property of the general base.

Bacterial degradation of N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide (DEET): Cloning and heterologous expression of DEET hydrolase

Article Abstract:

The isolation of a Pseudomonas putida DTB bacterium capable of utilizing N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide (DEET) as sole carbon and energy source and hydrolyzing DEET into 3-methylbenzoate and diethylamine is reported.
