Overexpression of an anti-CD3 immunotoxin increases expression and secretion of molecular chaperone BiP/Kar2p by Pichia pastoris

Article Abstract:

A bivalent anti-CD3 immunotoxin in Pichia pastoris with a moderate secretion level is expressed. In order to a better understanding of the limitation of the secretory for the immunotoxin in Pichia pastoris, the relationship between the major endoplasmic reticulum protein folding chaperone BiP/Kar2p and the immunotoxin during the immunotoxin transit through the ER and Golgi compartments.

Okadaic acid, an apoptogenic toxin for symbiotic/parasitic annelidis in the demosponge Suberites domuncula

Article Abstract:

An examination was conducted on the role of okadaic acid (OA), an apoptogenic toxin for symbiotic/parasitic annelidis in the defense system of the marine demosponge Suberites domuncula. With the help of immunocytochemical and use of antibodies against OA, it was showed that toxin was intracellularly stored in vesicles.

Increasing secretion of a bivalent anti-T-cell immunotoxin by Pichia pastoris

Article Abstract:

The object of the study is to develop a method for production of a bioreactor (of a toxic protein) which is optimized and scaleable. By this study, a toxin-sensitive Pichia pastoris strain was found to secrete the bivalent immunotoxin.
