Proteins by design

Article Abstract:

Novel proteins and folds are being built from scratch by computational structural biology or computing amino acid sequences that will fold to create enzymatic activities not previously seen in nature. A computer program called ROSETTA is used for computing the energy of given protein conformation and to test millions of conformations of energy structures and this protein design methodology has can be used in studying diseases like Alzheimer and Parkinson's and also has commercial implications.
